Where is the line for Trump supporters?

Fully realizing that my words may not make a difference to people aligned with our current president, I can only hope there will be “the straw that broke the camel’s back” moment.

In light of the thousands of people who are or will be fired to save money, Trump has decided to send at least $20 billion to bail out Argentina.

This is a country that is selling its soybeans to China while our farmers’ crops go untouched due to tariffs. Then $175 billion has been allotted to Homeland Security for his mass deportation agenda instead of working on a bipartisan plan to facilitate the immigration process (remember the Statue of Liberty?) Both figures were published in this newspaper.

Peaceful protests are deemed un-American, our troops are patrolling city streets, ICE agents are rounding up people without due process and taking women and children — is this our American, land of the free?

There doesn’t seem to be a day that goes by when I am not troubled by some action of this administration. I truly feel for the people who are being hurt by Trump’s thoughtless and cruel policies.

What “straw” will force people to discern what is happening to our country? My conscience has forced me to write this letter. Please be aware of what is happening to our democracy, exercise your voting rights, and continue to support organizations that benefit the lives of others. We can make a difference.
