Stop fussing over Super Bowl singer
I can’t believe the uproar over the NFL decision to have international artist Bad Bunny headline the Super Bowl halftime show.
Although I’m not a fan and not that familiar with his music, I’m also 71 and not familiar with a lot of music produced over the past decade.
That said, many recent Super Bowls have featured acts that I only know by name but I have usually given them a listen. Some have been pleasantly surprising and some not very pleasant. I really don’t like performers who either mumble their lyrics or lace their music with so much profanity that every other word is bleeped out.
I also believe that if you don’t like the halftime show, it’s very easy to head to the kitchen and make a sandwich or just have a beer. It really isn’t that hard.
Some fans, politicians and celebrities say they are planning to boycott the game and the halftime show because the performer happens to sing in Spanish. I find this to be stupid, bigoted and mean-spirited.
Back in the 1950’s, I don’t recall music fans boycotting singer Richie Valens because his mega-hit “La Bamba “ was sung in Spanish. Apparently, our society was more advanced 70 years ago than it is today.
My advice to all those complaining about this year’s Super Bowl show is to just enjoy the game and make a sandwich at halftime. If your mouth is full, you won’t be able to whine.

Motorists need to respect cyclists, rules
It was another beautiful autumn day. Another perfect day to bike, and yet l had errands to run, so I decided to bike to get those errands done.
I put bags on my bike to carry the groceries, flashing lights front and back to be seen,........
