Trump sets standard for transparency

Jim Novotny Sr.’s Aug. 21 letter, (“Trump tariffs driving up energy prices,”) claims that President Trump’s tariffs on Canada are responsible for an increased cost of energy.

Yet, Mr. Novotny ignores the biggest factor in rising energy costs: policies based around climate change.

The Green New Deal sought to replace reliable energy sources (fossil fuel, coal) with unreliable ones (solar, wind). These policies might be noble virtue signaling. However, for the consumer, these extreme policies have caused energy costs to skyrocket.

President Trump took to his Truth Social account to weigh in on climate change.

He left no ambiguity what he believes as well as what actions he plans........
