Stop them now before it’s too late

The headline above the fold in the Aug. 9-10 Leader-Herald was in a big, black font, denoting the importance of the article, “Justice Department escalates scrutiny of Trump foes with probes of James, Schiff.”

This is how a dictator eliminates anyone who dares to question his or her actions.

There is a statement by Martin Niemoller, a German professor and pastor, and it starts,

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out -- because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out -- because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -- because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.”

Please, do not let us go down that path.........
