Honor Constitution to keep U.S. together

I attended a seminar at the Institute of Theology at Hartwick College on the Nicene Creed. Some of you know this from church.

One important action by Roman Emperor Constantine was to call the bishops and church people together to create a creed, a statement of belief. It took time to clarify what was to be the foundational beliefs of the new Christian religion, especially who Jesus is.

When it was created, all the bishops and all the congregations understood that this is what they believed and will say they believed.

I was reminded of our Constitution.

It took years to get it close to right. And now people say and act as if they........
