In Broadalbin, the Sunflower 50 Race for a Cause go-cart event recently helped raise money for a veterans organization in Rotterdam. The fifth annual event, held at Perry’s Sunflower Maze on Sunday with about 3,500 spectators, featured go-cart racing, vendors, raffles and race team events. The festival raised money for Operation at Ease in Rotterdam, which pairs veterans and first responders with dogs from shelters and provides free training for post-traumatic stress disorder and mobility service dogs.
