HIGH NOTES: Gifts to libraries, money for gleaning, community action donations, Hometown Heroes

In the Mohawk Valley, the Carnegie Corporation of New York recently donated $10,000 each to the Amsterdam Free Library, Gloversville Public Library and Johnstown Public Library. The awards are part of Carnegie Libraries 250, a special initiative honoring the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The three local libraries will receive the gifts in January and may use the funds however they wish to celebrate the 250th anniversary, further their mission and benefit the community.
