Imagine being able to enjoy special discounted meals at select Schenectady restaurants without having to step over snow banks and without freezing your butt off to get through the door.

That’s one of the hidden benefits of a new promotion starting today from the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC) that offers visitors to the city an opportunity to sample the menus of 13 local restaurants at special prices.

Downtown Summer Sampler Restaurant Week — which begins today and runs through Sunday, Aug. 24 — is an offshoot of the Restaurant Week in Schenectady that’s become a winter tradition.
