Oh no. You can’t have it both ways.

Republicans can’t legitimately accuse Democrats of delaying a special election for Congress over political reasons, then turn around and do the same thing for the same reason.

But that’s what Republican leaders are doing by holding back the confirmation of Rep. Elise Stefanik as UN Ambassador in order to keep her in the House a while longer because they need her vote to hold onto their slim majority.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Republicans were crying foul over a proposed plan by Democrats in the state Legislature to change the law that requires the governor to set the date of a special election within a very short period of time.
