EDITORIAL: Get plenty of input into bar closure times
Is it dangerous to have bars open until 3 or 4 in the morning in terms of drunken fights and potential gun violence?
Is it disruptive to people living near the bars to have to listen to loud music and rowdy patrons wandering around all night?
Can a community afford to pay its police overtime to monitor the bar scene into the wee hours?
How much business is gained and lost by the hour that the bars are required to close, and is it worth it to the community and to those businesses to have them stay open as late as they do?
If one county required that bars closed earlier than neighboring counties, would people drive to those counties and risk drunken driving accidents, or would they just go........
