Bloomberg economist doesn't see tariff strategy changing soon -- Down to Business
If the on-again, off-again tariff strategy championed by the Trump administration is making you dizzy, buckle up, because it’s likely to continue.
That’s the view of Estelle Ou, an economist at Bloomberg L.P. involved in forecasting where the U.S. economy is headed. Although she follows what’s happening in trade for a living, she admits “it’s even been hard for me to keep track.”
Ou offered the take of Bloomberg Economics, the company’s macroeconomic research arm, in a webinar last week hosted by The Food Institute on how economic headwinds – including trade tensions – and consumer dynamics are shaping the future of the food-and-beverage sector.
The chart-filled presentation by Ou, who formerly spent time in the U.S. Treasury Department and at the Federal Reserve, reminded me of a college economics........
