Just 1 in 3 support Iran war: Survey

The latest polling on the Iran war shows that only 1 in 3 Americans support the ongoing U.S. military operation in the Middle East.

The Reuters/Ipsos survey, released Tuesday, found that 33 percent of Americans approve of U.S. attacks on Iran, with 62 percent who said they disapprove. Nearly 70 percent of Americans also said they think President Trump has not “clearly explained the goals of U.S. military involvement in Iran.”

Reuters reported that approval of the war has consistently been below 40 percent since the initial U.S. and Israeli strikes on Feb. 28.

An overwhelming majority of Republicans largely approve, at 71 percent, and just over a quarter of GOP respondents say they disapprove. The war is unpopular among Democrats, with only 5 percent approving of the operations and 93 percent who said they disapprove.
