Greene says UFO files release ‘shiny object propaganda’ as ‘they wage foreign wars’

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Friday called the Pentagon’s release of documents related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and UFOs “shiny object propaganda” as the Trump administration wages “foreign wars.”

The Pentagon released 162 files earlier Friday morning amid President Trump’s push for greater transparency on the issue. The Defense Department shared a new web page, war.gov/UFO, for the public to visit and access documents as they are released.

Greene, a former Trump ally, said she “really” does not “care about the UFO files.”

“I just don’t,” the former lawmaker wrote on the social platform X. “I’m so sick of the ‘look at the shiny object’ propaganda while they wage foreign wars, let rapist and pedophiles run free, and ruin the value of our dollar. Unless they roll out live aliens and test demo UFOs or actually admit what we know this really is then I have way better things to do on this Friday.”

The Georgia Republican also blasted the administration in a separate X post less than an hour later, which she ended with “Happy Friday everyone!”
