Trump's AI vision comes into focus ahead of summit
President Trump is preparing to lay out his administration's vision for artificial intelligence policy, with a heavy emphasis on innovation, infrastructure and the promotion of U.S. technology.

Trump on Wednesday is set to release his AI Action Plan, which will be structured around three core pillars, according to a preview obtained by The Hill.
The first key pillar is accelerating AI innovation. This includes removing regulatory barriers to the technology's development.
The Trump administration's focus on innovation is no surprise. The White House quickly established in January that it was eschewing the Biden administration's focus on regulation.
Trump rescinded former President Biden's executive order focused on AI guardrails within days of taking office, and Vice President Vance slammed "excessive regulation of the AI sector" during his first international appearance.
The administration's plan to take aim at AI regulations also includes state rules that it deems too restrictive. It seeks to target these rules by restricting federal AI funds and tasking the Federal Communications Commission with determining whether they run afoul of its mandate.
It also seeks revisions to a federal AI risk framework to remove references to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), misinformation and climate change.
