The Democrats have an Epstein problem of their own
Belonging to a political party is a lot like being a college football fan. When the other side wins, you are convinced that they didn’t do it honestly. When they are accused of cheating, you proclaim them guilty immediately. And if they are guilty, you advocate for the worst possible punishments, including the death penalty. But when it’s your party or team, you do everything to minimize, deflect and deny. You then proclaim the rules weren’t fair and when you get hit with a punishment, you are clearly being persecuted unfairly.
Trust me, I am an Ohio State Buckeyes fan and a Democrat.
As President Trump continues to deal with the fallout of his broken promise to release the Epstein files, Democrats have been trying to take advantage of his mishandling of the matter. While it remains to be seen just how badly this affair will hurt Trump and the Republicans in the midterms, current polling shows that only 17 percent of all voters and 40 percent of Republicans approve of his handling of the matter.
Add to that the Wall Street Journal’s story on Trump’s letter to Epstein drawing more scrutiny to their relationship and you would think that the Democrats, at long last can finally have something that might penetrate Trump’s seemingly invincible armor. But there is one major issue the........
