New Jersey gubernatorial candidates Jack Ciattarelli and Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D) have both released their first general election television ads for the state’s upcoming governor’s race.

Ciattarelli, who won the Republican nomination this year for a second time after a narrow loss to Gov. Phil Murphy (D) four years ago, is seeking to pull off an upset over the Democratic nominee Sherrill. The Garden State has been consistently blue-leaning, particularly on the federal level, but Republicans have had more success in state-level races and have been encouraged by improvements that the GOP saw in the 2021 governor’s race and the 2024 presidential race in the state.
