President Trump on Sunday said his administration had “some very good talks with Iran” and suggested that positive news could be coming from the negotiations.

“Let's see what happens, but I think we can have some good news on the Iran front,” Trump told reporters from the tarmac in Morristown, N.J., ahead of his departure for Washington, D.C.

Delegations from the U.S. and Iran wrapped up a fifth round of talks on a potential new nuclear agreement in Rome on Friday. Trump during his first term withdrew the U.S. from a nuclear deal the Obama administration had negotiated but has since launched new efforts meant to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions and prevent a war.
