Trump says he was unaware of $1,000 World Cup tickets

President Trump says he was unaware of the high cost of attendance for World Cup soccer matches taking place in the United States next month.

“I did not know that number,” Trump told the New York Post when told some tickets to matches were going for upward of $1,000 a piece. “I would certainly like to be there, but I wouldn’t pay it either, to be honest with you.”

“I haven’t seen that, but I would have to take a look at it,” he said.

Fans across the world have expressed outrage in recent weeks over ticket prices to attend games in North America, which are some of the highest in the international tournament’s history.
