EEOC sues NY Times, alleging discrimination

The New York Times is being sued by an employee who is alleging the company discriminated against them based on gender and race.

The suit stems from a complaint from a white male employee who alleges he was not given a promotion because of his race and gender, the newspaper reported on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Times said it “categorically rejects the politically motivated allegations brought by the Trump administration’s EEOC.”

“Our employment practices are merit-based and focused on recruiting and promoting the best talent in the world. We will defend ourselves vigorously,” a spokesperson for the Times said.
