‘Wordle’ to become TV game show, with Savannah Guthrie as host

The popular word game “Wordle” is being made into a TV show, which will be broadcast on NBC and hosted by anchor Savannah Guthrie.

The popular word game from The New York Times is expected to air in primetime and will challenge contestants to solve five-letter word puzzles in a “supersized battle of smarts, speed and fun,” NBC announced on Monday.

“It builds on the way the puzzle community engages with Wordle every day — solving together, sharing wins, debating strategies and cheering one another on,” the broadcaster said announcing the show, which will be produced in partnership with Jimmy Fallon’s Electric Hot Dog production company and the Times.
