Loomer: Zuckerberg addition to tech council ‘slap in the face to MAGA’
Conservative activist Laura Loomer said Wednesday that Mark Zuckerberg’s appointment to the inaugural President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology is a “slap in the face” to MAGA.
“We went from Zuckerberg for Prison to Zuckerberg now being appointed to President Trump’s White House Tech panel. So much for accountability,” Loomer wrote in a post on the social platform X.
“Zuckerberg deplatformed President Trump, censored his supporters and then helped steal an election. What a slap in the face to MAGA,” she added.
In the past, Loomer has harshly criticized Zuckerberg for banning Trump from Facebook following the Capitol riot and censoring content related to the assassination attempt on the president during the 2024 campaign.
Trump also previously shared disdain for the Meta CEO; however, the tech giant has grown to become one of the president’s allies in the tech landscape.
Zuckerberg attended Trump’s inauguration last year and Meta donated $1 million to his inaugural fund, alongside Amazon, Google and Boeing.
Now, the Meta CEO will join Trump’s 13-member tech council and will be tasked with providing the president with information needed to inform public policy relating to the American economy, national and homeland security, employment and other topics, according to the White House.
Zuckerberg will serve alongside Marc Andreessen, Sergey Brin, Safra Catz, Michael Dell, Jacob DeWitte, Fred Ehrsam, Larry Ellison, David Friedberg, Jensen Huang, John Martinis, Bob Mumgaard, and Lisa Su.
