Graham on Cassidy loss: ‘No room in GOP’ to ‘destroy’ Trump agenda
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday said there’s “no room” within the Republican party to “destroy” President Trump’s agenda, a day after Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) failed to advance to a runoff for his seat in the upper chamber.
It also comes as the president backs similar efforts to unseat Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) for frequently breaking with Trump.
“There’s no room in this party to destroy his agenda or to destroy him and his family as a Republican. Democrats do it all the time,” Graham said during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“If you align with Democrats to stop his agenda like Massie does, you’re going to lose. If you align with Democrats to drive him out of office, like Cassidy did, you’re going to lose,” he added.
