(NEXSTAR) — The unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day, is upon us, potentially lining you up for a three-day weekend of parades, fireworks, cookouts, and more. Should you need some sunscreen, a forgotten lunch menu item, or a snack for the road, many stores and restaurants will be open.

Others, however, will also be enjoying a day off.

Banks and post offices will, as usual, be closed for Memorial Day, which falls on May 26 this year.

Warehouse retailer Costco and chicken fast food chain Raising Cane's are closing their doors for the holiday as well.
