(NEXSTAR) — While many Americans have already received their 2024 tax returns, with the average return totaling $3,324, others are only now getting their deposits or checks.

These taxpayers are largely those who filed their taxes in May. This could have been because they required an extension, or because the IRS extended their deadline due to severe weather or wildfires.

If you were one of those taxpayers who filed in May, and you're expecting a refund, you shouldn't need to wait much longer.
