Safety and tourism should drive next state government towards better roads
Tasmanians deserve roads that are built to last, safe, and reliable.

Labor's recent policy announcement that, if elected, it will enact a five-point plan aimed at building "Tasmanian Roads for Tasmanian Conditions" has energised people to speak out about the condition of the state's roads.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff told the media that his government has increased road maintenance funding by approximately 25 per cent.
Despite that, across the state, drivers tell us via letters to the editor and social media comments that they continue to navigate highways riddled with potholes, unstable surfaces, and recurring damage that reappears with every storm. The condition of our roads is not just a nuisance-it's a threat to safety, our economy, and Tasmania's reputation as a world-class travel destination.
