THE WASHINGTON STAND—Earlier this week, the House of Representatives voted 220-192 to approve a resolution condemning socialism. Only eight Democrats joined the Republicans in voting for the measure.

The resolution read in part:

Whereas socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has, time and time again, collapsed into communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and repressive dictatorships…[Socialism] has repeatedly led to famine and mass murders, and the killing of over 100,000,000 people worldwide.

It then turns to the rise of Democratic Socialists of America, and the DSA policy positions such as voting by noncitizens and incarcerated criminals, abolishing the U.S. Senate, and replacing the two-party system. It then denounces socialism in all its forms, declaring it incompatible with American values and the Constitution.
