In Celebration of Labor Day, Trump Cabinet Members Share Their First Jobs
Just in time for Labor Day weekend, the White House published a video Friday on YouTube featuring Trump Cabinet members sharing their first jobs and lessons learned.
“I wanted to be a cheerleader in high school, and I couldn’t afford the uniform,” Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer recalled, opening the video. “So my first job was packing peaches at Warmerdam’s Packing in Hanford, California, where I was working 12-hour days for the first time.”
A position as a fruit packer at Warmerdam Packing earns an estimated $15 to $18 per hour, with experienced workers making up to $19.
