LOFTUS: Texas Flood Reveals Something Dark About Modern Politics
A dark but all-too-familiar characteristic of modern politics is rearing its ugly head in the aftermath of the floods that ripped through Central Texas over the weekend.
So far, over 100 souls have perished in one of the deadliest floods in the United States in the last 100 years. The number may climb even higher as search and rescue teams continue to comb through debris. The disaster has put tales of heroism and sacrifice on full display, but, sadly, it has also unleashed a narrative war about the government’s role.
Since Saturday, the left has been trying to assign blame, pointing to President Donald Trump’s administration and the DOGE agenda, even though local meteorologists undercut their narrative. (RELATED: Democrats’ Anti-Trump Flood Narrative Quickly Debunked By Meteorologists)
ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos erroneously claimed on Saturday that “there were significant staffing shortfalls to the National Weather Service’s office in the region.”
