Paul Glatzel has signed on for another two seasons at Swindon Town – after a mixed second season, what makes him an important retention?

The journey of Glatzel at Swindon has been a very interesting one to follow. If he had signed a contract until 2027 last summer, I would have personally led the parade through the centre of town; if it happened in January, it would have been a peculiar decision; but it felt right when it was confirmed late last week.

During his first half season, Gavin Gunning’s side revolved around him, although there were not many other places to highlight. He was using his skill to drop off and then get in dangerous areas and finishing off chances.
