How can Swindon Town reverse tumbling crowds next season?

After a season which has seen tumbling crowds at the Nigel Eady County Ground, how can Swindon Town work to rebuild their attendances?

Although this season has ended in positive fashion, it has still been a very difficult season at Swindon, with them having secured the club’s fourth-lowest league finish in the four-tier structure, but the most worrying trend has been in the stands rather than on the pitch.

There was plenty of concern last summer about season ticket renewals, and even though the club have said sales remained around the same level as last season in practical terms, when removing free tickets, what has unfolded has been a worst-case scenario.

The average attendance, ahead of the curtain going down against Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday is 7,108, according to Transfermarkt, which is the lowest it has been under Clem Morfuni’s ownership by 1,375, and only twice since 2005/06 has it been lower.
