Would extra charging points convince people to buy EVs?
News of the council trying to decide where to install chargers for electric vehicles around Swindon sparked a discussion about EV ownership.
The local authority has £1.9 million to spend from central government’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund which has been set up to fund charger installation in streets and at flats where householders are not able to have their own charging point installed.
There will be a public consultation on possible plans this summer as councillors mull over where the best spots for these new chargers would be.
