Thames Water: Wiltshire reacts to special administration call
A Wiltshire MP’s call for Thames Water to be put into special administration has triggered a wave of strong reactions from local residents.
Sarah Gibson tabled an early day motion in Parliament, sharply criticising the "ongoing mismanagement of Thames Water in Wiltshire".
Her proposal for government intervention to ensure reliable services while a longer-term fix is found has clearly struck a chord among residents, many of whom have been left frustrated by rising bills and concerns over water quality.
The debate quickly spilled onto social media, where locals shared their views on Thames Water’s performance, billing practices, and the broader issue of private ownership of essential services.
Many, like Trish Wilson, believe water should not be run for profit.
Ms Wilson said: "Something as essential to life as water should not be privately owned.
