Swindon Balloon Festival visitors praise first event

Visitors to a new Swindon festival offered positive feedback and constructive criticism after the main attraction had to be cancelled.

The Swindon Balloon Festival entertained thousands of people over the weekend, though no hot air balloons were able to ascend or be tethered to the ground due to the strong winds.

Despite this setback, the pilots and organisers are keen to return next year.

Cassie Barry said: “Sat watching the stunt bikes, the Vikings, civil war guys, enjoying the late sun, going on the fair and just being outside was still worth the money without the balloons going up.”
