Calls to save Speedway grow after opposition to new stadium
Mysterious leaflets opposing plans for a new Speedway stadium in Swindon caused a stir online.
Gaming International's Clarke Osborne and Swindon Speedway's Terry Russell have submitted a planning application under Swindon Motorsports Ltd, to build the arena.
A movement to oppose the new stadium has grown, with leaflets being handed out around the proposed Studley Grange area warning locals that there is a 'noisy speedway planned near you'.
It is unclear who is behind the poster leaflets in opposition to the plans, which go on to list concerns about appalling noise and unacceptable light levels, which it feels Wiltshire Council should take into consideration.

Barry Ponting said: “This is why Swindon as a whole fails; other towns and cities approve new projects and ideas, and Swindon constantly shuts them down.
“Which is no surprise, why things are left either falling apart, empty or closed altogether.”
Derek Rutland said: “Some people will do anything to stop sports. We were told that if the old track was taken for houses then there would be a new one.
“But now the people who will have homes by the new track and were told it would be by them are now trying to stop it.
