Illegal e-scooter rider, doing 15–20mph on dimly lit road, killed by car

The rider of an illegal e-scooter, travelling at an estimated 15–20 mph on a busy dual carriageway where cars reach speeds of up to 70 mph, was killed while riding along the dimly lit road.

The case is the latest to be featured on series five of Crash Detectives, a BBC show focused on Gwent Police.

In the early hours of September 30, 2023, 26-year-old Alan Galudzinski, originally from Poland and living in Newport, was travelling northbound along the A4042 towards Cwmbran on an electric scooter.

Sadly, on October 1, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
