'100 high street banks closing their doors in Wales in the last three years'

This week, I spoke in the Senedd about the future of our high streets and town centres. Analysis from the Welsh Retail Consortium in 2023 showed that Wales has the second-highest number of vacant shops in the UK.

We have seen 100 high street banks closing their doors in Wales in the last three years.

And on top of that, across our valleys we are seeing more and more proud testaments of our past, our miners’ halls and libraries, facing closure.
