Play telling of heroics during 1909 Newport disaster hailed as 'huge success'

A play about the 1909 Newport docks disaster has been hailed as a "huge success."

The production, "Tom Toya Lewis - a Local Hero," was put on by Coleg Gwent English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students.

Written and directed by Tristan Francis, with the help of Andora Hole and Alison Stewart, the play recounts the heroics of Tom Toya Lewis during the disaster.
