Plans to cut regional rugby 'incredibly disruptive' says local MS amid city anger
Plans to shake up regional rugby and potentially cut Wales' four regions down to two have been criticised by Newport West MS Jayne Bryant.
The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) proposals are described as a "massive blow" for the city and would mean the potential loss of the Dragons RFC.
The WRU are currently holding a consultation into this shake-up that would mean only two regional sides left in Wales.
Ms Bryant said: "I have supported Newport RFC since as long as I can remember and with the introduction of regional rugby, the Dragons RFC too.
"l've been there from the start.
"Through good times and bad.
"Like many others, I have renewed my season ticket for the Dragons this year.
