A Newport dental nurse is stepping into the national spotlight as part of ITV’s brand-new reality game show The Floor, hosted by Welsh star Rob Brydon.

James Allen, who grew up in Newport and works as a dental nurse at a local hospital, is among 81 contestants battling it out for a £50,000 cash prize. The show, which launched last Sunday, will air weekly for the next 10 weeks.
