Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn has withdrawn from the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, due to "unexpected medical reasons," the BBC has confirmed.

The 49-year-old was just one of 15 celebrities who were announced for the line-up of the 2025 dancing competition last week, and has said with a "heavy heart" he has had to "step back".

Kristian commented: “With a heavy heart, I have to step back from this season of Strictly Come Dancing due to unexpected medical reasons.
