Coronation Street is a popular soap opera in the UK with many Brits engrossed in the ongoing drama of the show.

While some viewers will have their favourite characters on the cobbles, it’s time to say goodbye to some of the cast as they move on and leave the show.

From Sue Cleaver to Katy Cavanagh, some of the soap’s most well-known faces are leaving this year.

Soap legend Sue Cleaver who plays the role of Eileen Grimshaw will leave the show in spring this year.

In January, Cleaver said she was leaving the ITV soap after 25 years to step outside her “comfort zone” and “do something new”.

Opening up about her departure, she told the panel on ITV’s Loose Women: “I’m now 61 and I feel I’m now at a stage in my life, like most mums we have responsibilities, we have other things we have to consider [and] we’re bringing........
