Every year, thousands of dogs big and small, along with their hopeful owners, spend a few days in Birmingham in a bid to take home coveted trophies at Crufts.

Last year, an Australian Shepherd named Viking was crowned best in show with the three-year-old dog from Solihull, Birmingham beating 24,000 dogs from around the world over four days to claim the show’s top honour.

Viking, co-owned by Melanie Raymond, John Shaw and Kerry Kirtley, was the winner of the pastoral group earlier in the show.

The Kennel Club, which runs Crufts, has revealed the five finalists nominated for its annual Hero Dog Award 2025.
