ITV has changed its schedule for this evening, affecting fans of Coronation Street.

The popular soap opera will not air on Friday, February 28 as the broadcaster has removed the programme from its TV schedule.

This is due to an FA Cup fixture with the Aston Villa v Cardiff City match being shown instead.

Emmerdale is on at 7pm on ITV1 but is then followed by the FA Cup match with coverage starting at 7.30pm and kick off scheduled for 8pm.

Coronation Street should air at 8pm on Fridays but that won't be the case this week.

Earlier this month, ITV announced it would cut down its soap schedule by an hour a week with Coronation Street and Emmerdale to be changed to half-hour instalments.

Coronation Street currently airs for three hour-long episodes a week........
