An MP has praised the "light in the darkness" in the welcome given to Ukrainian refugees in his community.

Chris Evans, MP for Caerphilly, made the remarks during the closing ceremony of A Welsh Afternoon, a solo art exhibition by Ukrainian artist and poet Olesia Miftahova.
