A Newport girl was chosen to take part in the Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need.

Alyssa, aged 10, joined Matt Baker to explore the countryside in the special episode, which will air at 6.05pm on Sunday, October 5, on BBC One.

It will feature four children who have overcome challenges thanks to projects funded by BBC Children in Need.

The children will talk about their experiences, the help they've received, and how it has changed their lives.

Alyssa, who lost her mum to cancer, has been learning to cope with her grief and adjust to life without her.
