EastEnders viewers have been calling for the return of a character they have branded an "all-time favourite".

Fans of the BBC soap want Shirley Carter, played by Linda Henry, to make her return to the show after she left the square in 2022.

First arriving on EastEnders in 2006, Shirley was involved in many key storylines that saw her become a fan favourite.

In 2022, Shirley left the square after the death of her son, Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer, and went to Australia to visit her daughter Carly Wicks, played by Kellie Shirley.
