EastEnders’ Vicki Fowler made her grand return to Albert Square this week after 21 years away and is now played by Alice Haig.

But in the early noughties, the character was portrayed by a different actress who was part of a few controversial storylines at the time.

Vicki Fowler was born to 16-year-old Michelle Fowler in 1986, who got pregnant by her best-friend Sharon Watts ' father, Den Watts.

Although she wasn’t the first to take up the role of Vicki (younger versions of Vicki were played by different child actresses), Scarlett Alice Johnson took on the role as teen Vicki, first appearing on the soap in 2003.

During her time on the square, she was involved with an older man and got pregnant by Alfie Moon’s younger brother, Spencer, but aborted the baby.

Vicki left the show in late 2004 after overhearing her father say that he didn’t love her as much as he loved Sharon.
