Is new BBC historical drama Dope Girls based on a true story or real events?
Dope Girls is a new BBC historical drama which follows a group of women who set up a nightclub and embrace a new criminal lifestyle.
Set in Soho in 1918 the cast includes the likes of Julianne Nicholson, Eliza Scanlen, Geraldine James and Umi Myers.
It was created by Polly Stenham and Alex Warren while Shannon Murphy serves as the show's lead director.
Due to the period setting and the subject matter of the series, some viewers might be wondering if Dope Girls is based on a true story or real events.
According to the Radio Times, the series is clear that it is only "inspired"........
