Iconic EastEnders star lands new role 18 years after leaving the BBC soap
An EastEnders icon has landed a new role 18 after leaving the popular BBC soap opera.
Shaun Williamson, who played the role of Barry Evans, will join the Channel 5 gameshow Celebrity Puzzling.
Many viewers will remember the actor's gruesome fate on EastEnders when his character was pushed off a cliff by his wife, Janine, played by Charlie Brooks.
In the years since his departure, the actor has widely been referred to as "Barry from EastEnders" whenever he appears as himself on TV.
The celebrity version of the gameshow has seen the programme given a massive revamp.
Shaun Williamson is just one of the contestants taking part in the programme which will be hosted Jeremy Vine.
Sally Lindsay and Carol Vorderman will also be regular team captains, according to © South Wales Argus
