After nearly a year and a half on the market, Silicon Valley tech billionaire Marc Andreessen’s vast Atherton estate sold for $27.2 million on Aug. 12. The property was originally listed for $33.4 million.
With an estimated net worth of $2 billion, according to Forbes, Andreessen is among the most influential tech founders in an area that many CEOs call home. The Bay Area bigwig co-founded one of the first internet browsers, Netscape, in 1994, before pivoting to a highly successful — and even more lucrative — career as a venture capitalist. Many of the companies Andreessen’s firm backed over the years created products that people the world over use on a daily basis, including Airbnb, Facebook and Slack.
